The Northern Ireland Accordion Championships were held in the beautiful Hilton Hotel Conference Centre, Templepatrick, Co. Antrim on Saturday 18th February 2023.
The championships were well attended and had in excess of 180 entries. The audience were treated to a fantastic day of music performance and Royal Meath Accordion Orchestra were delighted to be part of the event.
The day was rounded off with a concert of invited performers from amongst the participating performers. Royal Meath AO open the show and cast their musical magic on the large crowd who had gathered for the prizegiving. The performance of “RMAO at the Movies” and our duet of Oscar Everitt & Elijah Vythelingum received rapturous applause.
RMAO members were awarded numerous prizes and details can be found on the attached results. In addition our young performers were awarded the top three prizes in the overall category for best performances . This is a unique and fantastic achievement and the work of the participants, tutors and parents to make music fun contributed to this outstanding achievement.

In addition our excellent percussionist, Annabel Synnott was awarded best Orchestral Percussionist at the event. Thank you Clyde Johnston for organising this fabulous event and we are looking forward to 2024 already.
